I heard someone say that life begins at 30… I have also heard that life doesn’t begin until you are 40. If any of this is true then I have one fantastic life just waiting to be lived!
2009: my 30th year…
It has certainly been my most extraordinary year yet. It has been filled with so many first’s, so many once in a lifetime’s, so many OMG’s & LOL’s!
2009 started in Paris… a romantic New Year’s getaway that I will never forget! I wasn’t back in Canada very long before breaking away from our bitter cold winter to fly off to Phoenix, Fort Lauderdale and Amelia Island. Unexpectedly, while in Amelia Island I was able to witness NASA’s Discovery shuttle take flight. Definitely a once in a lifetime moment! Easter was spent in NYC with my two favorite people. Life is good! In May, I spent 3 weeks away in London, UK and Maranello, Italy. I have to say… My passport has become my favorite souvenir and my third home away from home is in the air! This summer I hit up California… twice! San Francisco is always a favorite, especially when shared with good company! One of the most exciting moments of my life happened just outside of San Fran in a little town called Hollister. While falling through the air from 15,000 feet up, I was living like there was no tomorrow… no fear… no looking back. (See my video!)
It’s hard to believe that less than two years ago, I had never been on a plane… Now, I am jumping from them!
Last week I was in Spain! Is this MY life???
You hear the metaphor all the time: “Life is what you make it”. It took me 30 years to really comprehend the depth of what that meant. I wanted this life, so I made it happen! I do have the female advantage, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t worked hard for what I have. Some people might read this and think that it doesn’t seem like much, or some might think that I live a fairytale life… I know how lucky I am. I am blessed with health, a beautiful healthy daughter, a wonderful family who fought hard to break the long chain of hardships so that I could have a better life, good friends, a great job, LOVE… My life is great, and it’s JUST beginning!
I would love to post more photos and share more stories from this year, but it’s time to move forward into 2010…
Where will I be? Ringing it in from Mexico! Ola!
Goals for 2010: to kiss my daughter’s pudgy cheeks 365 more times than I did this year, to stay healthy, to go outside more, to visit family more often, to give more back, to finish what I start, to read more, to write my blog with better grammer and rested eyes, to make a new bigger/bolder bucket list, to take more photos, to cook more… (Maybe!), and … to make it my most extraordinary year yet!

Don’t forget to leave your comments so that I know you are out there!
