This session absolutely melted my heart!
Baby portraits have always been a favourite of mine, but this time of year makes them tricky to do in natural light because of the grey days and bad weather.
With the opening of my studio, I now have this problem solved! All of the photos below were taken at my studio location with natural light. The best part of all is that the studio is big enough that I can get traditional portraits but I also have room to move around to capture those natural lifestyle-like images as well.

Meet baby Adam! He’s so unbelievably sweet!
Apparently, Adam’s mom and I used to play together when we were little girls! I think that makes me love this session even more!

An evening with the Catton Family

This time of year makes outdoor and natural light photography very difficult. I ran into my first challenge of the year while visiting with the Catton’s at their home on a gloomy Friday evening.
I don’t use flash very often just for the pure sake of loving how the camera catches natural light… If I had a film camera, you can bet I would be using that for beautiful light!
Flash creates harsh shadows when not used properly. I will admit… when it comes to flash, I’m still learning!

All in all, I had loads of fun chasing after Miss Delilah while trying to capture some golden moments before she turned one… which happened not long after these photos were taken.

I love Meg & Matt’s use of colour through out the house! Really perks up a grey day! Miss Delilah has the biggest sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen on a child!

Once again, I am a little late blogging these photos but now that I have my feet planted firmly on the ground for the next month, I have more time to catch up with the super fun things I did this summer… like… having a picnic with the Cullen’s in the orchard! Who know apples could be so much fun!
I absolutely adore this family and I love that they keep bringing me back to capture their family moments as their family grows.
I can’t believe how much this blue eyed beauty has grown! Little Miss Cullen is a girl on the move! You might remember their mini shoot HERE.

I know I am horribly late blogging these photos but as they say, better late than never! I am hoping that works in this case too! I will be catching up on a log of blogging over the next two weeks.

You might remember the maternity shoot that I did for Phil & Alex last spring (click here to be refreshed!), well now you can meet beautiful Miss Sophie too!
She has an amazing full head of vibrant red hair that I just can’t get enough of! Red locks with crystal blue eyes… Look out Phil! This girl is going to be a knock out!
As always, it was wonderful to catch up with these two and hear about all of the new changes in their lives. I am hoping it won’t be long before they call on me again for the maternity photos of their newest little one… which should be arriving sometime in February if my math is correct!
Congratulations you two! You make amazing babies… don’t stop… ever!

Sarah & Tyler: Summer Lovin!

We are now within the final days of summer.. it doesn’t see like very long since I blogged about the end of last summer! The years are starting to fly by me!

Today I spent the day at the beach with Sarah and Tyler to do their annual photos. We hit up the beach in Rondeau only to be greeted by an army of people eating flies! What a shame.. the day was beautiful otherwise. The diffused light was perfect for photos. We hurried through the beach photos and then went back to the garden. Oddly enough, there weren’t many flies there!
Such a busy little boy! It was hard to capture a single still moment with him.

Special Shoot for mom! To the Garden! We had a very nice visit with Aunt Lucy, Davie & Joe and Mike! Great to see you guys!
He might look tough, be is clearly a lover, not a fighter!
Off to the dock! Tyler was a little upset because one of his crocs fell in the lake and drifted away.
Someone is getting sleepy! Sarah’s eye are just amazing! It’s a family trait.

Thanks Sarah for letting me be the one to capture your memories once again! All my love!

Welcome Baby Violet!

Baby it’s cold outside!!
I think little baby Violet didn’t know what she was getting into being a December baby! I can speak from experience, its just to cold to be happy about anything! Violet certainly wasn’t happy about being half naked for my photo shoot today. I was able to grab a few shots, but that was all she was going to allow. I have a feeling we will see her again very soon!

Congratulations Victoria & Al… She’s BEAUTIFUL!!!
(Congrats to Hilary too… a very proud Nana North!)

Momma said there would be days like this!I love the little white spots on new born noses! Its one of those things that you forget about until you see a brand new baby again! Finally asleep… Good job Mom!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I am definitely in the festive mood after spending a day with Ryenne and Jenn at Sloan’s Christmas Village just outside of Chatham-Kent! If you haven’t been there before… TAKE YOUR FAMILY!
I was very impressed with with the amount of fire pits available for families to camp around all day. People brought blankets, thermos’s full of hot coco, hot dogs and marshmallows! Now that I know what to be prepared for, I can’t wait to go back! There are train rides, jungle-gyms, hay castle-mazes, cookie decorating… Oh my gosh, the list goes on and on!!!

Sloan’s is without a doubt on my favourite things list! Sorry Oprah…anything that gets the family out and interactive with each other tops my list!

The light was so pretty today! I couldn’t help but to just keep snapping!Thanks to Jenn for taking this photo of Ryenne and I! It’s not often we are on the other side of the lens together! Again, I LOVED the light today!
I was cold enough to want to snuggle up with this little sheep! So sweet!
Like I said, this place has everything! We bought a couple had made ornaments from this guy. Super friendly and very hard working!!More Christmas inspirations on the way!

Nine years ago my life changed forever!
I remember it like it was just last week; that sweet little stork bite on your little nose… your first cries… the first time you opened your eyes and looked at me when all the doctor madness ended. In that moment, something magical happens in a mother. There is an unbreakable bond, a sense of protection, a world of motherly knowledge just happens.

Ryenne Elizabeth: My first real true love. My first true tears of happiness.
