Welcome to my Blog!

A psychic once told me that I would have two kinds of jobs in my life: a job that gave me money and a job that gave me pleasure in life; but I would have to choose one. She also said that she could see me in Rome with a man whose name started with the letter M. At the time, I couldn't believe her! A small town girl like me... in Rome? I was only 17 at the time... It all meant nothing. I haven't thought about that psychic in more than 15 years, until now.

Right now, I have a very unique job that let's me travel around the world while dealing with very high profile clients (Money), I love my job... but lately I have debated on giving up my day job to become a full time photographer because that's where my passion has led me (Pleasure). I would have never thought that I could pursue my dream of owning my own photography business if it hadn't been for the love of my life pushing me everyday to do what I love. Did I mention that his name begins with (M) and that he's Italian? This small town girl is moving to overseas in the next few months do to what I love. I really wish I could remember that psychic's name!

I currently live in Ontario, Canada with my 8 year old daughter. She is my sunshine... my only sunshine! You will see her in my blog photos more than anyone else. I can't help it, she's just so cute! The photos that I have of her I will treasure for life. They are REAL moment photos that really show her personality. That is my photography style and what I aim for when shooting: Real. Life. Photography.

Nothing pleases me more than when I give my clients their photos and see the smiles on their faces. Whether it's wedding photography, boudoir or children’s photography, the smiles always come out!

I love photography… and it shows!

Fun with styling

I have this incredible urge to do a vintage photos shoot.
This has prompted my thoughts on learning about being a “stylist” for photo shoots. I tried a little below, but it’s far too much work for me to do in one day!  If you are interested in working with me as a stylist or as a...

Holy Macro!

I’ve been playing with a 100mm 2.8 Macro lens this week. It was only supposed to be a borrowed lens, but I think that I have fallen in love and might require one of my own!  It’s not a lens that one would use often, but it’s certainly a lens that you can have fun...

Girard-Simpson Series 1

I have known Brandy since we were wee little girls playing dress up. Our mother’s grew up together, and now we are mothers together.  I haven’t seen her in over 15 years, but she is still the same chatty sweet girl that I remember! I met Jason for the first time yesterday and I’m glad...

Why do I need so many photos?

Before lifestyle photography became the “in” thing (and better thing, might I add), we had mainstream portrait studios like Sears and Walmart. I know a lot of people still get these done and that’s ok if you are going for the “no personality” look. Sadly enough, I have seen portrait studios screw up a few...

And the Winner is….

I would like to congratulate Michelle Crummy for being the 100th commenter on my blog! I can’t think of a more deserving person for the $25 iTunes Gift Card Giveaway. Michelle has been an avid follower of my blog, and has hired me twice for family photography. Congratulations Michelle!
In the meantime, I haven’t posted too much...

Why Blog?

This blog has become such a huge part of my life. I’m always thinking of things to blog about during the course of my day and sometimes I will even shoot stuff just for the purpose of blogging!  For all of my NON-photographer friends, I will tell you that this is normal behavior amongst the...

Is it Good night or Good morning?

One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2010 was to write my blog with rested eyes (and therefore hopefully better grammar!). I haven’t found a way to make this happen yet!
People always say that you should never let a hobby become a business… It’s a good thing that I love my photography hobby so much...
