Fall is around the corner and it’s making me want to each comfy things… here are a few of my favourites! I will miss summer when it’s gone, but I’m okay with curling up and being cozy tonight!

Day Light: Catch it before its gone! The days are getting shorter already… sigh…

One of my most favourite stress relievers its taking my camera for a “walk” to see what I can come up with. Usually I come away with a couple fav’s… I sometimes post a few… sometimes they sit on my hard drive collecting microdust.

Today however, I was definitely feeling the love the sun was sending me! I couldn’t decide what my most favourite shots were, so I’m just going to post all my favs!

I haven’t been posting much lately, so consider this a bonus!

I’m not always a fan of sun flair because you can’t always direct where the rainbows are going to land! Maybe you know how to do that and want to enlighten me. I want them… just not on peoples faces; or in this case… the horses face!
Light however is one of the elements of photography that makes it so interesting! Its amazing how different a photo can look if your camera isn’t metered properly to accept the differences in the light and dark levels in your images. I LOVE playing with natural light, especially the warm August afternoon light!

Monterey 2010 & The RM Team

Welcome back to another exciting and exhausting year in Monterey California! I would like to say Congratulations to the RM Restoration team for their amazing work on the 1933 Delage that won “Best of Show” at the Concours d’Elegance! Congratulations to the RM Auction’s team for their hard work at the auction which brought in more that $67 Million over the course of a 3 day auction. And, last but not least… Congratulations to Max for making it through as Car Weeks best auctioneer while feeling ‘just slightly’ under the weather! (I’m not biased, I’m just his biggest fan!)

The 1933 Delage

Can I just tell you how difficult it is to get photos like this at the Concours! There are THOUSANDS of people there waiting in their spots for hours to snap this photo! A little Charm goes a long way!

As I seem to do every year, I leave my “good” camera at the hotel because by the time the concours comes around, I’m too tired to be bothered to carry it!
So let this once again be proof that you don’t need an expensive camera to get great photos! These were taken with my Canon PowerShot Elph – $150 two years ago!
We won’t see these on billboards, but they still look great!

Congratulations to the Patterson’s for their win!Star Spotting at the Concours!

Celebrities onsite included Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick Dempsey, Ed Hermann, Jay Leno… and of course those that you ‘think’ that you see like Rob Lowe!

A man that needs no introduction…

1949 Delahaye Type 175 S Roadster – Sold for 3 million at auction.1958 Ferrari 250 “Pontoon Fender” Testa Rossa – Didn’t sell at auction, but did make it to $10.7 million at the highest bid! Apparently, just not enough money!

The Auction… very exciting moments! Good job Steph!

When it’s all said, sold and done… we’re off to Monterey’s Fisherman’s Warf for breakfast!

I couldn’t post these photos in the first round with this family because the car was to be entered into the most prestigious classic car Concours in the world – The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. As you will see in the photos to come, this beautiful 1933 Delage won the “Best of Show” this year!

I know you have been waiting for these photos! Thanks for your patience! A lot of people have been emailing me and asking WHEN are you going to be able to see these! Well, here they are!

Lake Rosseau was beautiful! I haven’t been up in this area of Ontario since I was a preteen! I forgot how much I love swimming in our beautiful lakes. Our view from our balcony at the JW Marriott Resort was stunning and worth every penny to get the lake view. We spent every morning waking up to an amazing sunrise!

Daddy’s Girls

I work with some pretty amazing people! I’m really going to miss this RM family circle when I move to England!
Meet Dave… and his girls Lindsay and Megan!
Dave is one of those great guys at work that is always available to come to the rescue when my car breaks down! I have had to call on Dave a few times in the last year. It’s a good thing that I won’t be bringing my car to England with me! I’m not sure what I will do without my RM guys to save me!

In my usual photo fashion, there will be additions to these photos. I just can’t post them yet! It’s a secret! So you will have to come back again soon to see what’s SO SPECIAL about the photos!

In the meantime… let’s go to the beach!

Summer Vacation with a twist!

It’s been more than a month since I have posted anything on my blog! Can you believe that! Tsk Tsk!
Don’t worry, I’m coming back… and it will be better than ever!

There are so many photos to post, I’m not even sure where to start! So, while I ease back into the working world after a very memorable vacation, I will get organised and get some photos up for you soon! Car tour, A wedding and a Funeral

The header on my blog reads “Veronica on the go… Try to keep up” I think that I’m the one having a hard time trying to keep up now!

A few days ago I was given a surprise… and I LOOOVE surprises! I thought I was going to San Diego… but instead… I went to Massachusetts! (Not as a result of a bad flight!)

I attended a car tour full of amazing cars owned by one of RM’s clients… and then his wedding! We left the Wheatleigh Hotel early in the morning to be sure that we were back in time for the wedding at 5pm. If I didn’t understand the passion for vintage cars before, I certainly do now! While on the car rally, we travelled through the beautiful back roads of Connecticut and Massachusetts in a 1950’s Jaguar convertible. I instantly fell in love with this car! It’s smooth rounded body was like icing on a wedding cake! We drove for hours without any problems with the car.. sadly, that means it runs better than my 2003 Dodge!

The mid point of the car tour was at the Lime Rock racetrack. This is where the day suddenly gets really really realllllly bad!
We were on the second lap around the track… crowds of people were in the stands and laid out on the lawn watching the cars of the previous race, and now the 9 cars in our tour… we were right on the tail of the pace car… it all seemed pretty relaxed… zooming around the bends… but then… it happened!
The passenger door flung right open! While grasping for the door so that I didn’t fall out of the car… My camera slide right off my lap and smashed to the ground. I heard the glass break… oooh… my wide angle prime lens… in two pieces. My camera was scratched and dented for the first time… when I turned it on, there it was… the dreaded “Error 99″ and a screeching squeal from within! Ohhhhhh… my stomach…. ohhh my head… feeling dizzy… hide the tears behind my sunglasses. At least I was in one piece. What can you do! Time to shop for that 5D Mk II!

So… back to the car and back to the tour… we have a wedding to attend!

The Bride was beautiful! A perfect dress for the perfect location. Sadly, I was only able to capture the wedding with my point and shoot camera! It’s a good thing that it wasn’t my wedding to shoot!
The wedding was small and quaint with a mix of Indian and American traditions.
