I met Dave a few years ago while I was working at Eve Chocolatier and re-met him while attending the local young entrepreneurs networking group here in Chatham. It’s taken me a long time to even come close to understanding what Dave does with his company called Potencia and to be honest… I’m still not entirely sure that I fully get it but, if you have internet access while downtown, you can thank Dave… and somehow my internet at work runs a little better; I’m told I should thank Dave! Thanks Dave!
So, meet Dave and behind every great man there is a great woman or in this case… WOMEN: Meet Susan… and Abigail! I fell in love with Abigail’s bright blue eyes the moment I walked through their door! She was a little camera shy at first, but we managed to get to know one another pretty quickly. We happen to pick on of the warmer days of this years winter to do the family photos. Even the sun came out to join us in some backyard fun!
One of the things I love about doing mini-sessions, especially when they are done in my clients own home is that you really get a sense of YOUR family life, in YOUR space. I am able to capture moments that you won’t know were great moments until your child has grown up. When people look back at the photos years from now I hope that they will remember how small their children were in their cribs or what their children’s favorite books or toys were.
One of the biggest challenges of shooting a session in someones home is that I can not always control and regulate the lighting situations very easily. I much prefer to shoot in natural light, but sometimes that isn’t always possible and I have to use flash to compensate.
Here are some of my favorites from the session.
